Maggio + Kattar is the largest boutique immigration law firm in Washington, DC and is recognized nationally and internationally for their talented team and work. The firm represents clients from around the globe, and the new office celebrates culture by blending world motifs throughout the space.
Look inside Maggio + Kattar’s highly refined office …
Maggio + Kattar’s reception area introduces visitors to the office’s themes of global influence, stylized tradition, and respect for their Dupont Circle neighborhood and architecture. The entryway features a custom latticework ceiling inspired from a compilation of international patterns. The cloud ceiling works proportionally against its complementary neutral backdrop. The exposed concrete floor is ground and polished to highlight elements from the original building while the custom marble slab reception desk adds modern refinement. The ceiling’s integrated jewel lighting makes these surrounding features shine.
Maggio + Kattar’s entryway signage announces the firm in a non-traditional, highly visible space. The three-dimensional lettering is steel-pin mounted to a reclaimed timber beam, mixing the new with old. The window film backdrop focuses attention on the signage and shields the two adjacent offices from a high-traffic area. The painted concrete column and painted exposed ceiling are further examples of how harmony exists in the space between artistry and raw materials. Mannington‘s linear patterned carpet creates visual momentum down the hallway. All millwork is by IBS Millwork, including the sign, reception desk, decorative ceiling and cabinetry.
The irregularly-shaped large conference room is an example of how to create a unique design opportunity out of preexisting conditions. The Surge Linear Suspension fixture by Tech Lighting is a statement installation and one of several sculptural lighting pieces in the office. The surrounding color in the international art and Masland Venetian rug from Division 9 are balanced by the accompanying reclaimed Stikwood accent wall, the Andreu World table, and the black-framed glass storefront partition.
The office’s second and third side-by-side conference rooms are smaller-scaled versions of the larger, main conference room. These classic spaces are updated with BuzziSkin’s BuzziGrip panel system for acoustic and visual privacy and Kartell’s mixed-metal Precious FL/Y Suspension pendant lights.Tweet
