Gavin Hughes Daniels
Gavin Hughes Daniels, AIA, IIDA, is the Managing Partner and Co-founder of Wingate Hughes. Each day, Gavin pushes the firm to be better, more creative, and never forget that everything is about the relationship with the client. Gavin is the outspoken innovator of the office and the driving force behind Wingate Hughes’ culture of building client relationships and pushing beyond the status quo. He leads by example, creating designs that help clients rethink the way they see, use, and experience their spaces.
Gavin has more than 15 years of architecture, design and construction experience, specializing in commercial interior architecture, and he excels at bringing vision to reality. He listens carefully to understand every client so their goals are achieved regardless of project complexity or cost. Gavin is passionate about improving people’s lives by improving their work environments, and he grasps the big picture while treating the smallest design details with importance. Gavin’s skills span architecture, creative problem solving, design, consultant coordination, budget management, negotiation, client relationships, marketing, and construction administration.
Prior to co-founding Wingate Hughes, Gavin was a project manager and senior project designer at three D.C.-located architecture firms over seven years. Gavin currently chairs the board of directors for the March of Dimes Capital Area chapter. He is also involved with the SED Center, a preschool and adult education center primarily serving the Latino community.

Kerri Bouie, Partner at Wingate Hughes, is an accomplished interior designer with extensive experience in the hospitality and health services industries. She has designed large-scale hospitality, commercial, and residential projects in the Washington, D.C., Portland, Ore., and Savannah, Ga. regions.
As a Partner at Wingate Hughes, Kerri works on projects from concept to completion. Her national design experience lends an appreciation for regional culture to Kerri’s processes, partnership style, and work. Kerri’s passion for art can be noted in her care for design details.
Prior to working at Wingate Hughes, Kerri was a freelance interior designer in the Washington, D.C. area and served as an interior designer for a global hotel corporation, focusing on renovation projects. In her free time, Kerri volunteers as an events coordinator for the Initiative for Public Art Reston, located in neighboring Virginia.

Tulsi Patel is a Senior Project Designer for Wingate Hughes’ Light Box design studio. She is a passionate interior designer with extensive experience in space planning, 3-D modeling, rendering, furniture design, residential design, hospitality design, retail, and commercial banking. Additionally, Tulsi has experience in conception presentation, FF&E selection, shop drawing review, project coordination, and site implementation.
Tulsi’s hospitality design experience includes working and collaborating on a broad range of three-, four-, and five-star hospitality property renovations such as the W Hotel, Marriott, Hilton, William Patterson University, Harrah’s Casino, Pasha Night Club, Czarnowski, Lasting Impressions Event Rental, and Artisans Restaurant. She provides the highest quality design standards using her background with ADA code guidelines, while surpassing the client’s budget and lead time expectations in execution and service. Additionally, developing and maintaining a strong working relationship between her clients and project team is the basis for her continued success.
In Tulsi’s free time, she freelances for a designer based in Chicago on high-end residential projects. Prior to joining Wingate Hughes, Tulsi focused on furniture design and also worked for an award-winning provider of architecture and interior design solutions in New York.

Alejandra Castillo is a Project Designer at Wingate Hughes and has a strong background in 3D modeling, graphics, and design. Alejandra’s energy and drive make her an asset to projects of all scopes and sizes. Her unique skill set, global influence, and artistic eye continually advance Wingate Hughes design portfolio.
Alejandra continually bolsters firm productivity, the caliber of work, and culture through her contagious zest for self-improvement and her commitment to pushing herself to learn and advance as a designer. A seasoned painter, she is the recipient of a prestigious Honduran award for her contributions to her country’s culture through artwork, and her notoriety garnered her a scholarship to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
Alejandra is fluent in Spanish and English and can translate at a collegiate level. She combines her love for volunteerism with her passions in architecture and art in several programs, including Habitat for Humanity and serving as an art assistant at the Escuela de Arte Carolina Flores de Carias.

Fernando is a Staff Designer for Wingate Hughes’ Light Box design studio. His passion, creativity, and attention to detail reflect in his work. With over 12 years of diverse residential and commercial project experience in Mexico and the United States, Fernando’s extensive background includes skills in 3-D modeling, rendering, space planning, furniture design, site implementation, project management. Additionally, Fernando excels in the use of specialized software such as Autocad, 3d Studio Max, Archicad, and Corel Draw.
Prior to joining Wingate Hughes, Fernando worked in other architectural firms in the DC area developing design concepts for residential projects, preparing documentation for construction permits, and remodeling schools, playgrounds, and commercial venues. In Mexico, he led the design of several architectural projects and collaborated in three residential and commercial projects that won the Interior Design National Award (AMDI).
In Fernando’s free time, he enjoys cooking Mexican food and experimenting with international cuisine. He loves CrossFit, traveling, and is the founder of a small enterprise of hand-stitched leather goods.

Gloriana Ferran, Senior Manager, Accounting at Wingate Hughes, manages all daily financial and accounting needs for the firm. Her 15-year career spans roles offering audit and financial services for a variety of industries including manufacturing, real estate, and local government counties and municipalities. Gloriana’s background and skills allow her to simultaneously manage multiple projects for the firm ranging from payroll, account receivables and payables, and process refinement to policy management and invoice and collections management.
Gloriana is highly resourceful and makes smart, timely decisions that positively affect the firm’s bottom line. She also serves as a liaison for Wingate Hughes with technical and professional project teams outside of the office. Gloriana is responsible, accurate, and timely. She excels at human resource management, budgeting, cash flow management, and cost control.
Prior to Wingate Hughes, Gloriana was a senior accounting officer at Puerto Rico’s Federal Affairs Administration in Washington, DC. Gloriana is currently studying to become a CPA and can be found at her daughter’s gymnastics classes in her free time.

Debra Seay is the Administrative Assistant at Wingate Hughes, ensuring the office runs smoothly and productively. She has extensive experience in organization, office management, and personal assistance.
In addition to bringing strong personnel management and reception experience to the role, Debra assists with administrative correspondence and scheduling, human resources, all administration efforts, and contact management.
Before joining Wingate Hughes, Debra served as a marketing assistant for communication contractors and pursued courses in criminal justice.
Jamila Crawley is an Executive Office Manager for Wingate Hughes. Jamila has over 15 years’ experience in the administrative office, customer service industry. She manages the day to day office operations at Wingate Hughes. As she supports the staff, she sets a positive, can-do approach to office functions and has an ongoing willingness to ensure continuity.
Her role consists of managing the development and submission of proposals, marketing efforts, oversees task/project prioritization, coordination and maintenance, assists with processes and overall execution. Due to the fluid, fast-paced environment, any support needed she tackles.
Jamila is always willing to learn in new skills and opportunities. She thrives on client relationships, whether internally or external. Focusing on exceptional communication, being timely and efficient is one of her strongest attributes.
While Jamila isn’t in the office, she loves to spend time with her family and friends. She has also been a volunteer in her local community for 28 years. When she finds time to travel, she explores the areas and researches the best places to dine. Islands seem to be her favorite destination.
Bruce Lee is a Staff Designer II at Wingate Hughes. Bruce joined Wingate Hughes with over 5 years’ architecture experience. While he studied at Virginia Tech to become an Interior Designer, he found his vocation designing a prototype for a very influential consumer. He was drawn to be a Designer because he likes finding spatial solutions and satisfying client’s needs.
With strategy and design shop experience, Bruce excels in learning new skills and being a part of a team. He never underestimates ideas that may have been eccentrically pitched.
Bruce’s caliber causes him to produce beautiful renderings for clients and his eye for detail exceeds expectations on projects. When he is inspired by Esther Lee, his collaborative energy elevates his design capabilities.

Jasmine Comedy is a Staff Designer I at Wingate Hughes. Jasmine has been excelling in architect design, since she studied to become an Interior Designer. She originally started in showrooms and as she learned about different aspects of the Industry, she became highly creative.
As Jasmine’s innovative thinking has allowed her to experience different levels of professional growth. She noticed furniture, fixtures and equipment are her expertise. She finds her inspiration from art, traveling the world and being intrigued by history.
As Jasmine achieves countless accomplishments, she is looking to broaden her horizon and continue to develop her dexterity.
Originally from PG County Maryland, Jasmine loves kickboxing and working out. When she is not actively exercising, you can find her volunteering at animal shelters.
